Effective Advocacy: Using Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills to Combat Antisemitism
Inspired by her own experiences using DBT skills to stand up to antisemitism, Sivan developed this presentation to equip others to fight for the Jewish community while caring for their mental health. Attendees learn about identifying goals, managing crises, understanding emotional reactions, and communicating effectively. Sivan has delivered this presentation in-person to the University of Washington Hillel and virtually at the Limmud Seattle 2025 Festival. This presentation can be tailored to the needs of your group or organization.
Alongside two of her colleagues, Sivan delivered this workshop at the 2025 National Association of School Psychologists Annual Convention. Attendees learned about Jewish culture and identity, how to identify and speak out against antisemitism, and about challenges faced by Jewish children and adolescents; they also learned strategies for supporting the psychological and educational wellbeing of Jewish youth. Sivan can work with you to develop similar workshops geared towards educators and mental health professionals looking to make their practices more inclusive for the Jewish community.
